The PATAS System

PATAS Chasse: Mechanical High-Delimbing Machine for Commercial Timber Production

Especially developed for the careful delimbing of larch, pine, spruce, Douglas fir, eucalyptus, poplar, and teak—the PATAS handles pre-delimbing, live-tree delimbing, and small-scale harvesting from a single tractor-mounted platform.

See It in Action

Eight Seconds. 50 Feet. Clean Cut.

The cutting head reaches operating speed via hydraulically driven rubber belts that guarantee minimal bark pressure and maximum grip throughout the full range of the trunk. Pneumatically adjustable blades separate every branch cleanly, without risk of injury to the cambium.

The remote-controlled system keeps the operator safely on the ground at all times. One operator handles the remote; a second manages positioning. Together they can process up to 20 trees per hour—and 80 to over 100 in plantation settings.

Dual Function

Small-Scale Harvester Mode

Forestry experts who observed the PATAS in the field reached the same conclusion: "The selection of crop trees must be completely rethought as soon as this machine is deployed."

Trees destined for felling can be delimbed by the PATAS—whether that harvest is next week or 20 years from now. The lower 40–50 feet (12 to 15 meters) remain branch-free, eliminating the need for a full harvester or post-felling manual delimbing in most cases.

That means lower operating costs, faster extraction, and better log quality at the mill—all from equipment that pairs with a standard 40 hp tractor you may already own.
