Who We Are
We hold exclusive US and Canadian distribution rights to the advaligno PATAS—the world’s first mechanical high-pruning (delimbing) system for standing timber. Our mission is to bring German forestry innovation to North American producers and contractors who are ready to grow more value from every hectare.
The Technology Behind Us
The PATAS was born out of decades of frustration. Ernst Jordan spent years in the field watching skilled crews struggle with manual pruning (delimbing) above 16 feet (five meters)—slow, dangerous, and expensive work that limited what was economically feasible to produce as high-grade timber.
He set out to solve it mechanically without harming the tree’s cambium. Years of prototypes and over 200,000 pruned (delimbed) trees later, the Jordan family founded advaligno GmbH in Wunstorf, Germany. The second generation of the family is now fully engaged in the business, and the PATAS is in active production.
The name itself encodes their philosophy: adva from advanced, ligno from the Latin lignum for wood. The logo—a cogwheel paired with a green leaf—says what the company stands for: advanced technology in service of the forest.

Founder & President
Adam is a seasoned Forest Technician with over 20 years of experience in the field. He graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2006, bringing formal credentials to a career that began long before the classroom — pruning private plantations and Christmas trees on his family farm, and planting bare farm fields with softwood seedlings.
Over time, Adam became increasingly involved in managing invasive plant species that hindered the growth of standing timber and native understory. Invasive species management has been the primary focus of Baker Forestry’s work for the past eight years, making the company known as an experienced operator in its field within Ontario and beyond.
The addition of the PATAS Climber to Baker Forestry’s capabilities is a natural extension of the company’s core mission: to help landowners and managers grow healthier, higher-value timber stands through the right intervention at the right time.

US Operations
US Distribution Partner
Jon came to the PATAS Climber the same way many of our customers will — with a problem and no good solution. When he hired contractors to prune the pine trees on his own property, the work was slow, expensive, and dangerous. He was convinced there had to be a better way.
That conviction drove him to research the tree pruning (delimbing) space independently, which is how he discovered advaligno and the PATAS Climber. The machine answered every frustration he had experienced firsthand. Jon then connected with Adam Baker, recognized the opportunity to bring this technology to the United States, and invested in the distributorship to make it happen.
Jon leads all US distribution and market development for Patas Forestry, working directly with timber owners, forestry contractors, and plantation managers across all fifty states.
